PPS and Rite Aid launch first mobile procurement application for loss prevention devices.
Swansboro, NC (June 6, 2019) – PPSTG is a comprehensive loss prevention provider including LP systems, deployment services, packaged software, and custom application development. PPS, in conjunction with Rite Aid, are bringing the newest and most innovative technology options to the loss prevention industry with the launch of a new customizable application. The PPS/RAD app allows retailers to procure solutions via a traditional e-commerce type platform or by using an innovative, copyrighted, and patent-pending mobile UPC scanning feature. This feature enables loss prevention personnel to scan the UPC of products they wish to protect and aligns it with available solutions from PPS.
The PPS mobile app makes daily loss prevention tasks more efficient and improves the productivity of retailers and their loss prevention personnel. The application allows team members to easily and effectively search for solutions using traditional methods, or by using the proprietary UPC scanning feature, and to place orders for stores while out in the field or at their home location. Loss prevention leaders can manage and track their orders and receive status notifications, all from their mobile device. The PPS/RAD mobile app is currently available in iOS with a targeted launch date of late June for the Android version.
Rite Aid’s request to simplify Product Protection Device (PPD) procurement, approval, and tracking were key to enabling PPS to develop this solution. Cathy Langley, Vice President of Asset Protection at Rite Aid states, “The ease of scanning UPCs of high theft items and finding a solution at their fingertips will give our APDLs time back in their day.”
